Preventing seedforming

I have a magnificient 70-year-old ginkgo right outside my front door, but alas it is a female. I am getting tired of cleaning up after her each autumn and coping with the smell. I don't want to cut her down, so am looking for ways of controlling her fruit production. I have identified two possibilities:

Florel Brand Growth regulator

Maleic hydrazide

Does anyone have experience with these or other sprays? To what extent are they effective? Any downsides to their use? I also see that there is a 'tight time window' for their application; can one easily determine when it should be applied?

Tree distance from building

Hola,
My name is Tomas James from Argentina.
I have just finished building my house and there is a Ginkgo that i had planted 6 years ago, is about 3 meters high and is at about 1 meter from the house.
Is it ok to have it so close to the house?
If I have to move it, what will be the minimum distance from the house that shall I plant it?

Ginkgo trees for 9/11

Hoboken isn’t exactly a town known for its trees. In a town of 40,000 people crammed into one square mile of century-old tenement buildings directly across the Hudson River from Manhattan, there isn’t much room for them. Yet the town planted 40 trees in its Pier A Park as a living memorial to those who died on 9/11.

These trees aren’t ordinary oaks or maples or London plane trees that already occupy Pier A. These trees are special—they’re Ginkgo bilobas.

“I thought the ginkgo was a special choice,” Lisa Frigand, resident and commission member for the Hoboken September 11th Memorial Fund, said. “It’s fabulous.”

Ginkgo tree stump and new shoots

I found your site fascinating. I am trying to find out what would happen to a tree that was cut down. Is it possible for it to produce a new tree from the stump? Or would the tree die?

Ginkgo in clay soil?

I am planning new landscape for new home. Would love to grow Ginkgos. We will have clay soil that can be amended for planting. Is this a good idea for Ginkgo or should I consider another tree?
