Video playlist : Ginkgo leaves fall like rain
Ginkgo rain: leaves all fall at the same time
The leaves of Ginkgo trees may all fall in a short period of time, sometimes in one or two hours! This is recorded in many parts of the world in fall.
I made a selection of videos from YouTube (thanks to all videomakers!) presented in the playlist below. More info on my website.

Kirlian photo of Ginkgo leaf
Kirlian photo of a Ginkgo leaf.
Kirlian photography obtains an image of the electromagnetic discharge (corona effect) between a subject and an applied electric field. The luminosity of the corona depends on many factors including the health of the subject.

Quilt : Geisha in winter
Geri Patterson-Kutras from California writes on her quilt website:
"While studying Art History I fell in love with the grace and form of Asian art. This quilt was inspired by an ancient Japanese wood block print. The graceful Geisha braces against the approaching cold winter wind while the ginkgo leaves swirl around her."

Korean fall ceremony honors old Ginkgo tree
Kim Min Cha performs the traditional "Salpuri" dance, part of a fall concert to honor the changing of the leaves of a 500-year-old Ginkgo tree at Gyeongju Cultural Center (Gyeongju in South Korea). The concert is a mixture of a cultural performance and a religious ritual to honor the spirit of the tree. The trunk had been wrapped in ribbons and an altar was placed before it with incense and food. Offerings were placed at the foot of the tree.
This Ginkgo is monument no. 66 and is registered as Geongsangbuk-do.

Ritual harvesting Ginkgo seeds, Kushida shrine
Video Japan: An annual ritual to harvest Ginkgo seeds is held at Kushida Shrine in Fukuoka's Hakata Ward on Oct. 6. A pair of about 800-year-old Ginkgo trees, known as the "Ginnan" couple with a height of 22 meters and a circumference of 6 meters each, stand side by side next to the shrine's main hall. The "Ginnan" trees attract many followers and admirers as the symbol of power to bless people's relationships and children because they produce a lot of seeds.
