Cracked and shattered trees litter the Oklahoma City landscape now, the remains of an ice storm local forestry officials said was the worst to hit the metro in years. Many trees in gardens fared poorly. The Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown Oklahoma City "is just devastated,” said a city spokeswoman. Tall oaks and other trees had snapped in half, most of the 500 or so trees suffered damage. Fifteen or 20 trees were flattened by the ice. Worst hit were elm, pine, oak and ornamental pear trees.
This wonderful “woodblock print” was created in the style of Japanese artist, painter and printmaker Katsushika Hokusai. It is a Unicef-USA gift card to save a child's life.
